Head of Ventures
Azfer spent the first six years of his career in the Singapore Police Force — drafting cyber strategies, contributing to Singapore's Model AI Governance Framework, and building ScamShield, a consumer protection app downloaded by over a million people. He has, over the years, worked in policy, governance, compliance, legal and operational roles in very large and very small companies.
Azfer read law at Cambridge and Harvard, has published on everything from refugees to insider trading, and has taught law for close to a decade. He brings a rare blend of regulatory instinct and builder empathy to early-stage investing. When he's not meeting founders across time zones, he's probably gaming, writing, reading murder mysteries, building his next pet-project or investing his time in the people closest to him.
Head of Operations
Liam began his career in management consulting, advising some of New Zealand's largest companies on complex, high-stakes projects spanning corporate strategy, risk management, regulatory compliance, procurement transformation, and data analytics. He has a proven ability to turn operational friction into clean, scalable systems at speed.
With a background in economics and strategic management, Liam brings a rare combination of strategic vision and operational pragmatism. He is most energised by building the day-to-day infrastructure that allows early-stage companies to grow efficiently and sustainably — replacing chaos with structure and discipline.
When he's not working with Gondor's portfolio companies, Liam's usually either at the gym, watching rugby league, or reviewing form for the next big horse racing meets.
